A food market with live music makes for an enjoyable evening out at Dinner in the Park, at Matua Park next to the Matua Hall and Matua Bowling Club.

What's on today?

Head along to the Papamoa Lions Club Farmers Market at the Gordon Spratt Reserve this morning from 8am - 12pm. Come get fresh produce, lovely food, and some unbeatable bargains on everything from clothes to hardware. They also have stalls for those looking for some handmade treasures.

At the Omokoroa Boat Club Self-Righteous Brothers Derek Jacombs and Nigel Masters will be joined by good friend and legendary Wellington musician Alan Norman, accordionista and percussionist, for an afternoon of blues and country tunes, a bunch of Derek's own songs, some Kokomo favourites - whatever takes the boys' fancy! Alan Norman has a long prestigious career in music, playing with the likes of Chicago Smokeshop, The Warratahs, The Windy City Strugglers, Darren Watson. And, of course, Kokomo. The afternoon of blues starts at 4pm.

It's the first session for 2022 this morning for the Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club Junior Surf group at Papamoa Beach. Club champs will be held on March 6 this year.

Dinner in the Park is happening this afternoon at Matua Park, Hall Rd, Matua from 5.30pm - 8.30pm. Operating every Sunday until Sunday April 3, Dinner in the Park is a weekly artisan food market with regular musicians and bands playing, providing the whole family with an enjoyable evening out.

Pepi Toot Beach Express.

Pepi Toot is out and about today at Mount Maunganui. Leaving from outside Spongedrop Cafe in Salisbury Ave, the train takes in local views of both beaches as well as Mount Mainstreet. Pepi Toot operates from 10am - 2pm.
