One person is dead following a crash in the Bay of Plenty.
Emergency services were called to the single vehicle crash in Rotorua just after midnight.
A police spokesperson confirms a person has died after a car collided with a tree on Arawa Street.
"The person was the only occupant in the vehicle.
"An investigation into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."
