Motorists travelling via State Highway 29 are being warned to expect road works for the next couple of days.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises resurfacing work will take place on SH29, between Soldiers Road and the Ngamuwahine Bridge, on the Tauranga side of the Kaimai Range, starting tomorrow
"Works will be undertaken at night to minimise disruption to motorists," says a spokesperson for the roading agency.
"The works are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 28, between 6pm and 6am."
The road is expected to be fully open to traffic on Thursday, April 29, at 6am.
"During these works, Stop/Go traffic management will be in place with a temporary speed limit of 30km/h.
"Outside work hours, the site will remain under a temporary speed limit of 50km/h.
"These works are part of the Waka Kotahi road maintenance programme, which will see repairs and reseals on state highways across the Bay of Plenty to ensure the safety and resilience of the state highway network.
"Please take extra care, reduce your speed and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage."
In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work may be postponed. Visit the interactive Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website (journeys.nzta.govt.nz) for the latest information on roadworks, traffic, road closures and detours to help plan your trip.

I hope the Police monitor the speeds morons are driving through at putting everybody at risk. Since Christmas I have lost 2 windscreens and a headlight all due entirely to self centered, self entitled idiots speeding through roadworks between Tauranga and Paeroa.
