An elderly man is in hospital following a crash this morning on Pyes Pa Road which resulted in his car hitting a light pole.

The two-car crash was at 9:05 am at the corner of Pyes Pa Road and Cheyne Road.

The driver of the second car, Noah Stolzenberg, was on his way to work when the crash happened.

'I saw him pull out and was sure he was going to stop but then he jolted forward. It just kinda happened. I was real angry,” says Noah.

But he felt bad when he saw the other driver was an older man, he says.

Noah escaped without any injuries.

A Police spokesperson says the power pylon was hit and damaged and contractors will attend to fix it.

The two cars have been towed and the road is now clear.
