UPDATE: A vehicle is on its side following a crash on State Highway 2.
Emergency services are responding to a two-car crash on Te Puke East Road, Pongakawa.
A police spokesperson says it was reported about 6.25am.
"No one was injured, however the road is blocked in both directions due to one of the vehicles having rolled.
"Motorists are asked to avoid the area."
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it looks like vehicle salvage is underway.
"I just drove past and there are tow and salvage vehicles on the scene. I would say the road would be open in about one to two hours, depending on how complex the salvage is.
"Diversions are down Pongakawa Station Road, Old Coach Road and Pongakawa School road for those travelling westbound.
"For those travelling east, it is Pongakawa School Road Old Coach Road ahnd Pongakawa Station Road. It adds about two to three minutes to your tirp."
