Traffic delays on SH2 following crash

Reports are coming in of traffic delays on State Highway 2, near Whakamarama due to a single-vehicle crash.

A police spokesperson says they were notified of the crash between the cross roads of Te Karaka Drive and Barrett Road at about 1.30pm.

"The crash has caused traffic delays as one lane was partially blocked."

The spokesperson says one person is reported to have moderate injuries and two with minor injuries.

Police expect the area to be cleared shortly.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says traffic is stalled on the highway between Te Puna and Whakamarama.

"It looks like there might be a crash near Barrett Road. An ambulance is at the scene."

People are advised to expect delays in the area.

Another single car crash,apart from a medical issue,what was the driver doing.he/she should never be on the road.
