12.40pm update: One person has died following the crash on Wikaraka Street, Ngongotaha, earlier, which involved a motorbike.

The road will remain closed while the Serious Crash Unit works at the scene.

Motorists should continue to avoid the area.

The serious single-vehicle crash at Ngongotaha has also caused a power cut to much of the Ngongotaha township.

Police were called to the scene about 11.30am.

The road is still closed with diversions in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible
