A new campaign profiling top businesses in the Bay of Plenty is being launched to help drive economic development and growth in the region.
Run by the Western Bay of Plenty's economic development agency Priority One the new campaign is called ‘The Tauranga Business Case'.
It showcases the diversity of successful, innovative and high-value international businesses located across the Tauranga region.
Priority One chief executive Andrew Coker says the campaign will be used to boost business in strategic industry sectors.
'It's no secret that Tauranga is one of New Zealand's fastest growing economic regions and there is a solid case for establishing or expanding business operations to Tauranga.”
The campaign targets four key sectors: horticulture and manufacturing, information and communications technology, marine and boat building and specialised manufacturing and supply chain logistics.
Businesses looking to establish, relocate and expand into Tauranga will be presented with a proposition outlining how the region can be evaluated against their bottom line.
The campaign is due to be launched in January, showing a series of web based interviews and campaign materials profiling a series of businesses in the community.
'Each of the businesses has a unique story to tell about why they are located in Tauranga.”
Information for businesses will include what Tauranga can offer in terms of profit, people, place and potential.
Andrew says it is important to bring new business into the region owing to problems created by the global financial crisis and Psa.
'In the past there have been two key drivers for the economy of Tauranga; it has been the population growth and the number of highly skilled workers.
'Now it is time to build the depth of the economy and create high value business and jobs.”
Priority One has spent the last four months developing the campaign, putting what the organisation does on a daily basis into a publically visual and recognised campaign.
'It's about getting people to understand there is more to Tauranga than the beaches.
'By seeing the breadth and depth of business and innovation in Tauranga, and understanding the supportive business environment and networks that exist here, business people will recognise what the region has to offer and should seriously consider doing business here.”
