The inaugural Mini Women's Epxo in Papamoa is not as popular as organisers thought it would be.
Co-organiser Hannah Ward says she expected to see a lot more people through the doors today.
Serendipity owner Lisa Ranger with the clothing she makes out of wool blankets.
She says while the response is not too bad, it's probably slower than what she anticipated.
'This is the first year the expo has been going for.
'I thought there would be a lot more people coming though to be honest.”
She says they're still deciding whether the limited numbers are because people didn't know about the event yet or whether there wasn't enough advertising about it.
Despite the slow response, organisers are pleased with the running of the event.
'My business partner and I have pre-loved clothing stores that we run from home.
'We just wanted a way to help expose home-based businesses run by women and a way to help them market their own business.”
The Mini Women's Expo at the Palms Garden Centre in Papamoa has a range of exhibitors including an osteopath, lawyers, women's designer clothing, finance, children's departments and crafts.
Hannah says there's just a big range.

Sadly, never knew a thing about this, and live right in Papamoa. Didn't know about the event, never saw any advertising about it. Have been to Plaza Mall three times this week, and been to both supermarkets, and several coffee shops.... where WAS the advertising?
.

I would have headed along but didn't even know this was on. Sounds like a great idea though. I also know some great women who have home based businesses here in Tauranga who also didn't know it was on.
There was Advertising??
