Tauranga Sports secure playoff spot despite loss

Despite finishing the Farmlands Co-operative Baywide Premier 1 club rugby round robin with a 31-29 loss to Whakarewarewa Tauranga Sports got the bonus points they needed to secure third place and a semifinal encounter with Te Puna next week.

Te Puke and Te Puna finished in triumphant fashion to solidify first and second places and hosting rights for the playoffs, while Mount Maunganui got the win they needed over Rangataua.
