Next week will mark the start of another term of Rippa Rugby modules across the Western and Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The Western Bay of Plenty Rippa Rugby modules will see over 2000 kids year two to year eight involved in five Rippa Rugby modules.

This term sees the inclusion of a new intermediate grade for the Papamoa Rippa Rugby module.

Bay of Plenty Rugby Junior Rugby manager Kendra Reynolds is pleased to see the positive response from schools to participate in the upcoming modules.

'It is great to see schools increasing the teams they are entering this year and not just having the one team but an additional one or two across the grades.

'We know we can only achieve this through the overwhelming support from the sports coordinators, parents and caregivers. Their help allows us to grow the game we love and give kids the opportunity to participate in Rippa Rugby which keeps them active but they have loads of fun doing it.”

Eastern Bay of Plenty's Whakatane Rippa Rugby module will kick off on Wednesday February 21, providing the opportunity for kids to enjoy a four week programme.

Eastern Bay of Plenty Rugby manager Mark Seymour is excited to provide a fun way to stay fit an active for the kids in the Whakatane community.

'Even though it is a short module, it will allow teams to commit and we expect it will be a great little competition for the kids to take part in something that is fun and active to.”

Rippa Rugby will take place across five afternoon starting with Omokoroa module on Monday February 19, Otumoetai module on Tuesday afternoons, Te Puke and Whakatane module on Wednesday afternoons, with the Waipuna module on Thursday afternoons and Papamoa module on Friday afternoons to round out the week.
