Young Whitianga driver ‘in training’

A young boy, believed to be about eight-years-old, was filmed driving a car through the Whitianga township in the Coromandel.

A video captured by a member of the public shows a young boy driving a vehicle through Whitianga.

An adult in the vehicle claims the young driver is 'in training'. The vehicle also contains another, more unusual passenger.

Broken by Newsie, the video captured by Whitianga local Gaz Walden and posted to Facebook shows a very young boy, believed to be possibly eight-years-old, is behind the wheel of the Ford Falcon which is also occupied by other children, a man in the backseat, plus a goat.

Police are believed to aware of the video and are investigating the footage.

Teaching the young fellah to drive? yeah right.Methinks the only one with any intelligence in that car is the one with four legs!!

in the car but sitting in the back.............as for training keep it to the farm maybe be no safer but at least theres no other traffic about it, oh and the goat looks to be having a good time.

Only in NZ would you get a complete moron like this guy who lets an 8 year old drive a vehicle on a road and suggests he is training. What if there was an accident and someone got killed or badly injured or serious damage occurred? Would this idiot be able to compensate any victims? I think not.
