What is thought to have been a stolen car was set on fire on railway tracks near the Bureta Road railway crossing earlier today.

A car caught fire on railway tracks earlier today.

Tauranga volunteer fire fighters were called to the car on fire on the railway tracks at 3.20am. Police also attended. The car which was substantially damaged is believed to have been a Honda. No other details are available as those directly involved are now off duty.
