How is this news?

I'm sorry but the real news is in naming the boofhead that authorised the heli. Certainly doesn't sound like a life threatening situation to me. So she lost some bark and bit of a wrist injury. Hell I got one of those at the beach volleyball and I was only watching! Didn't need a heli! Good grief!

...the answer I think is the fact that it was a MOTORCYCLIST and it makes for popular news, even on a slow day. What is sad is that if it is indeed a case of "over reaction" AND a woman ( I would have thought a motorcyclist was a motorcyclist regardless of gender)...however I do hope the comments from the article is correct and just a "possible" fractured hand. But, it makes up the rather skewed statistics in regard to accident stats re. motorcyclists, either on a public road or a private one such as this. That beach volleyball tho...beware of low flying helicopters on the prowl :)
