Motorist and cyclist collide

Emergency services were called to the corner of Victory Street and James Cook Drive after a crash between a vehicle and a cyclist.

A New Zealand Fire Service spokesman says the incident was reported about 6pm today and involved a car and a cyclist.

He says the cyclist was treated by St John Ambulance staff and transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.

The spokesman says it was understood the injuries weren't serious and no one else was injured.

More information as it comes to hand.
