Update: Western Bay of Plenty Police are seeking information in relation to a pedestrian who was struck by a utility on Te Tumu Road last night.
At about 9 pm last evening a 19-year-old local man was on Te Tumu Road Paengaroa. Whilst there he was struck by a Grey blackish utility that was heading East. The utility is described as a flat deck with a drum on the tray.

Police have yet to locate and speak to this driver.
The pedestrian is currently in Waikato hospital with serious injuries. His condition is described as stable.
Police would also like to speak to any witnesses who saw this incident or anyone who has any information about this. Police would like the driver of the utility to contact them.

A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a vehicle last night.
The incident happen before 9.30pm last night at the intersection of Te Tumu Rd and Te Puke Highway.
Police say they are still investigating what happen but it appeared the man may have wondered onto the road.
At the time of the incident police say the driver of the vehicle had failed to stop and check on the injured man.
Tauranga Police Acting Sergeant Karl Blinkhorne says the incident had been handed over to CIB and investigations were continuing.
He also says the injured man had been transferred to Waikato Hospital and was still in a critical condition.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
