Coromandel roads will once again be a battleground with the return of the Targa Bambina Rally to the district next month.
Priding itself as being the 'Ultimate Road Race”, the Coromandel leg of the Targa Series always offers drivers a real motoring challenge while providing exceptional scenic views along the way.

With the return of the Targa Bambina Rally there will be a number of road closures across the Coromandel from Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16.
To assist with the stage security, the closure is also to include 50 metres of each adjoining road, from where it intersects within this road closure, not including the start and finish points.
Traffic marshals will also be in place to manage traffic.
ROAD CLOSURES:
Friday, May 15 from 3pm to 5.45pm:
SH25 (Whangapoua Rd), starting from its intersection with SH25 (Tiki Road at Coromandel), to finish by the Castle Rock Café and Winery 300 metres from its intersection with Whangapoua Road and SH25 (Te Rerenga Kuaotunu Road).
Friday, May 15 from 5pm until 9am Saturday, May 16:
Whitianga – the Marina car park entrance through to the intersection with Blacksmith Lane will be closed allow rally cars to park overnight.
Saturday, May 16 from 7.15am to 10.30am:
Pumpkin Hill SH25 (Tairua Whitianga Rd and Main Rd), starting at House No. 1032 A/B (750 metres South of its intersection with Hot Water Beach Road) to finish at its intersection with Ocean Beach Road (just North of Tairua).
Includes intersections with: Boat Harbour Road (No Exit), Kydd Corner Road (No Exit), Paul Road (No Exit).
Saturday, May 16 from 8:15am to 11:30am:
SH25 (Waihi / Whangamata Road) starting from the intersection with Whiritoa Beach Road, to its intersection with Golden Valley Road. The next stage carries on into the Hauraki District.
