UPDATED: SH27 crash north of Kaihere Rd

UPDATED – 9.25am: One person sustained minor injuries after their vehicle left the road on State Highway 27 about 200m north of the Kaihere Rd intersection this morning.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Scott Osmond confirms that fire crews from Ngatea attended the scene of the crash which took place at about 8.06am.

'There was one car involved which went off the road,” says Scott, 'resulting in one patient who was listed as status three, meaning they received relatively minor injuries.”

The injured motorist was attended to by Kopu ambulance staff who attended the scene of the accident.

There have been no reports of road blockages.

EARLIER - 8.18am:

Reports are coming in of a vehicle accident on State Highway 27, 200m north of the Kaihere Rd intersection this morning.

It is not known how many vehicles are involved in the crash which took shortly after 8am, but it is believed one car is off the road and one person is injured.

Ambulance crews from Kopu are currently on route to the scene of the accident.

Motorists in the area are asked to take care if travelling in or near the area.
