It's been a big weekend on the city's courts this Easter, with today proving show time for some of Tauranga's top basketballers in the final of the 25th annual Basketball Pacific Easter Tournament.

More than 135 basketball teams took to the courts at ASB Arena, QE2 Centre and Aquinas College for the tournament, which began on Good Friday.

Teams were divided into five different categories, including Under 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19.

Tauranga City Basketball media officer Matty Axtens says the Tauranga teams are doing well.

'Some pools are struggling and some pools are right up there with close wins. We've had some close losses too so they've been pretty competitive.”

So far, results have seen second places all round for U13 Boys A, U15 Boys C and U19 Women A, with two more rounds of play to come.
