At just 12-years-old, Anaru Paenga-Morgan has reached his goal two years early after qualifying for the World Crossfit Teen Varsity Gauntlet.
Anaru started crossfit at home with his mum Te Aroha Paenga and dad Basil Morgan Jnr before joining Crossfit 4010.
Anaru has qualified to compete in the 2015 World Crossfit Teen Varsity Gauntlet in America.
The year eight student from Whangara School in Gisborne set a goal two years ago that he would compete in the World Crossfit Teen Gauntlet by 2017.
'I have qualified two years earlier than planned and will now compete at the World Crossfit Teen Varsity Gauntlet, being held in California USA, in July 2015,” he explains.
'I am 12-years-old and the youngest competitor in the 12–14 year division. My current ranking is 10th in the world on the Gauntlet Leader board.”
Anaru is really excited about having the opportunity to be a part of what he says is an amazing event.
In order to make his dream become a reality, Anaru has one more hurdle to overcome.
The teen needs to raise $5000 in order to make it to California in July.
So far, he has managed to raise $1620.
'I would be extremely grateful for any sponsorship to help me reach my target of $5000,” he adds. 'Your support is very much appreciated.”

Anaru's mum, Te Aroha, says: 'We go through the donations together and he writes his own personal thank you to them.
'It has been very humbling the support he has received thus far”.
