Earlier report:

Greerton Marist are going head to head with Tauranga Sports at Greerton in final match of round two of the Western Bay premier grade.

Today's action also saw Rangatua take on Te Puna and Mount Maunganui face Te Puke Sports.

The winner between the Rangataua and Te Puna game will life the highly contested Gilly Bidois trophy

Since 2003, the two teams have battled it out in this traditional fixture to determine the holders of the Gilly Bidois trophy.

Traditionally the trophy is played for in a preseason fixture, but due to the early start of this year's competition, it was decided that it would be played for in their first encounter.

It seems Tauranga are continuing their dominate streak as they face Greerton this afternoon.

Last week, Tauranga beat Te Puke 16-20.
