The newly refurbished Bayfair Shopping Centre has a ministerial seal of approval after Bay of Plenty MP and Minister of Health Tony Ryall cut the ribbon on the completed $15 million project on Wednesday afternoon.
Bay of Plenty MP Tony Ryall officially opens the refurbished areas of Bayfair.
Tony attended the opening on the same day that he was visiting orchardists and his constituents in the Western Bay of Plenty struck by the kiwifruit disease Psa.
The ribbon cutting provided some relief for Tony from the ardours of that issue, and served as a reminder to him of the importance of the Bay of Plenty to the national economy.
'This is one of a number of major projects in the Western Bay, including new schools and roads,” says Tony.
'The Bayfair refurbishment continues to create jobs and opportunities in our region – it's great.”

Well done to Bayfair, it is an excellent place to shop, everything under one roof. Good to see projects like this going ahead that create jobs.
