Millionaire expands business to Bay

Jan Cameron, millionaire founder of the Kathmandu chain, is expanding a new business venture in Tauranga.

Jan launched the new flagship store for her latest retail venture, Nood, in Auckland on Wednesday and will open a store in Tauranga at the end of November.

The store sells lifestyle and homeware products such as furniture, ceramics, gifts and gadgets, luggage and home textiles.

Nood chief executive Heidi Barlow says that while the company was established three years ago, it had purposely maintained a low profile during this time as it refined its philosophy.
'We were also mindful of the economic conditions that have prevailed for much of this time, but we are excited by what we will be unveiling in Auckland, Christchurch and Tauranga this month, and in other centres throughout next year.
'We do have plans to have more than one outlet in some cities, but they are being designed in such a way as to complement each other rather than being a competitor.”

Made in New Zealand?

Cameron, who lives in Tasmania, made her millions with fabrics/products made in China/Asia where child labour is rampant. She sold her business to the biggest banksters on the planet -Goldman Sachs and J.B.Were for 275 million. She paints herself as a philanthropist and supporter of animal rights. However, herself a meat eater, recently offered farm workers up to $30,000 if they dob in their bosses for animal cruelty. Don't get me wrong: I do believe that animals have to be farmed at reasonable standards. But to use snitch tactics and emotional exploitation to massage her ego and promotion is just blatant propaganda. We would not be able to eat any meat if it wasn't for intensive farming. Unless you're a millionaire. I wonder where the Nood stuff is produced. Certainly NOT in NZ. Jan Cameron might have a passion for animal welfare, but she certainly hasn't got passion for 'Made in New Zealand”. It's just another Asia import scheme.
