Papamoa Beach will see a mass of surf lifesavers descend on it today as competitiors come from all over to take part in the Bay of Plenty Senior Championships.
Surf lifesavers from U16 through to open grades will compete on both today and tomorrow at Papamoa Surf Club.
The competition offers all the events available at the 2015 State NZ Championship and BP Rescue NZ Championship.
The event draws upon the best of the best testing both speed and endurance to determine the 2015 BOP champions in their respective disciplines.
Action will begin around 10am at high tide.
