Many of Tauranga's business leaders are gathering at Baypark on Friday night for the annual Tauranga Westpac Business Awards.

It is a sold out awards dinner with more than 500 people attending.

Being sold out is nothing new for the event, but it did have competition for numbers as it is November 5 – Guy Fawkes night.

'Some people have to choose, but both are like Guy Fawkes with firecrackers going off,” says awards organiser Anne Pankhurst.
