Not an ounce of love was shown to a Whitianga bakery after thieves smashed a window and stole stock plus a cash register recently.
But following the news of the burglary at the Love It Bakery on Albert St, the Whitianga community has come out in support for its proprietors Sakona and Kan Vann.

On social media this week there has been an uproar of disappointment from the local community in response to the burglary which took place sometime on Saturday, February 7.
So to show the Vanns their love a number of locals have been sending messages of support to the Vanns as well as sticking notes on the Love It Bakery's shop window.
While upset by the break-in, Sakona is heartened by the messages of support he and his wife have received today.
'I saw a few notes on the window this morning, people sharing their condolences and wishing us well,” says Sakona. 'I feel good that some people did that.
'Some of them came and showed us some of their love and support, so at least we know that some people care about us.”
For the past two years the Vanns have run their bakery and this is the first break-in the couple have had to suffer.
The thieves made off with a range of stock including a case of Red Bull and other fizzy drinks, baked goods like brownies and rocky roads, plus a cash register and tip jars.
Sakona says he has his suspicions as to who may have carried out the burglary but nothing more.
'The first time I came here I always believed it was a nice place and just nice people around, so to me it's quite disappointing.
'We didn't feel that we did anything wrong in the area, it was heart breaking actually but it's happened and there's nothing we can do.”
But the Whitianga community has recognised it could do something for the Vann's by showing their support via messages stuck on the Love It Bakery's window shop:

Whitianga Police sergeant Andrew Morrison says their investigation is continuing into the burglary, which has included gathering fingerprints from the scene.
While there were no results at this stage police would continue targeting the area to find the culprits responsible.
'We also had a car unlawfully taken from the area at around the same time and that was pretty close to where that bakery is,” says Andrew.
'Whitianga is a pretty small place so we are appealing to anyone who knows, saw or heard anything to get in touch with us.”
