Another 13 players have recorded three wins from an 80-strong field from 10 countries.
Along with South Africa's Bamford others to remain unbeaten are Chris Clarke and Jenny Clarke (Christchurch), Duncan Dixon (Bay of Plenty), Phillip Drew (Auckland), Hami Erian, Salah Hassan, Ahmed Nasr, Mohammed Karem, Tarek Mamdouh, Ahmed El Mahdi, Mohammed Nasr, Mostafa Eissa and Tarek Mamdouhx (Egypt).
Bay of Plenty's Dixon is the current New Zealand champion, and holder of seven national titles.
This is the second time the Bay has hosted a world contest, with the region hosting the women's world event in 2011.
Four Bay clubs are helping host the 80 competitors - Mount Maunganui, Katikati, Rotorua and Whakatane.
Some 20 lawns are being used at what is the largest field ever for the World Golf Croquet Championships.
The Mount, Katikati, Whakatane and Rotorua clubs are currently hosting five days of block play and plate rounds until Wednesday, to find the last 32 for the play-offs.
Knock-out play begins on Thursday at the Mount after five more rounds of block or round-robin competition.
The finals are at Croquet Mount Maunganui on Sunday, February 15.
