There have been reports of a crash involving a car vs campervan on State Highway 25 this morning.

The crash occurred just north of Pumpkin Hill near the intersection of Paul Rd and SH25 at about 8.20am.

St John communications advisor Robbie Walker says ambulance staff attending the scene assessed three people involved in the crash.

'Two were treated on site with minor injuries, while one was transported to Thames Hospital with moderate injuries.”

Fire Service Northern Communications shift manager Jaron Phillips added that crews from Hahei, Paunaui and Tairua attended the crash.

The road is currently open but motorists are advised to exercise caution.
