Rebuilt KFC opens noon

The Cameron Road KFC is set to re-open at noon on Thursday, making it the 51st franchise in the country to go through the national Restaurant Brands revamp programme begun in 2004.

The new KFC soon before its opening on Thursday.

The reopening comes 14 weeks after the previous store closed, with a complete rebuild and fit out complete with booth seating and longer tables for family and group dining, a new outdoor seating area and drive through, a Krushbar and plasma screens.

The $1.85 million transformation has created 20 extra jobs filled by people from the local community.

KFC general manager Brent Kitto says the newly rebuilt KFC Tauranga is more than an investment in a building.

'KFC Tauranga is an example of everything that is great about this brand – a local team dedicated to being a relevant, exciting organisation within their community.

'Through the store transformation we're investing in building a great working environment for our staff, delivering a superior dining experience to our customers and creating a thriving business that local suppliers can benefit from.”

There are a range of specials on offer at the new store during the opening weekend.
