The Thames Coromandel District Council says while there are no official road closures in the area today motorists will still need to be extra careful when driving.
TCDC spokesperson Andrew Mehrtens says flooding has taken place on Dalmeny Corner in front of the first bridge on Hot Water Beach Rd.
'You can get through it in a four-wheel drive, but cars will not be able to. But we're expecting the flooding to pass very quickly.
'There is also a slip on Hahei Beach Rd which is covering one lane, so it is passable but motorists just need to take extra special care.”
Andrew says there were some weather-related incidents throughout the district over the weekend, but the damage was very minimal compared to that sustained during storms earlier this year.
There were many power outages in the district due to feeder issues that were caused by the weather, he says.
'We got a lot of wind but it wasn't as high as it was earlier this year, the rain wasn't as much as we've had either.
'When you were a kid and you walked to school in bad weather, it was kind of like that.”
