On Christmas Day in homes all across Tauranga children will wake up, race to the living room and excitedly starting opening presents.
But the sad reality is that Christmas is not a happy time for everyone and there will be children who will wake up to nothing.

The latter does not sit well with Franz-Oliver ‘FOL' Lindsay so he's decided to do something about it.
He and Karaitiana ‘Krykey' Hohia-Thompson, co-founders of hip hop group Urban Drama, are throwing a Christmas Appeal Gig down at Brewers Bar in Mount Maunganui next week.
Also performing are TiZL, Pix Westpix West & RAS1, Swizl Jager, T Slash DUB, Phreaze & PYRO, House Of Gold, Arms Of Platinum, Psyko T, Massikar, Rhyzup, Gelow Jemz and Deep Trenchaz-Holacaust.
Franz-Oliver says to get in hip-hop lovers need to bring a gift wrapped Christmas present and a card, which will be donated to children of families struggling over the holiday period.
As a new father himself, Franz-Oliver says he doesn't like the idea of children going without on Christmas.
'I had the idea on doing an event last year as a Christmas appeal and when I talked the idea over with friends some of them laughed and said it wouldn't work, so I didn't do it.
'Those friends can laugh but it's not a joke when kids don't get Christmas, so this year I thought ‘just do it' and now I'm doing it.”
Franz-Oliver and Krykey, along with Rob TiZL, Shan Beck and Curious George, started Urban Drama more than a decade ago.
Over that time members went their own ways, leaving only Franz-Oliver and Krykey, but Curious George still continues to rep Urban Drama down in Christchurch.
The pair's first gig as a duo was down at Brewers Bar in 2013 where they competed and won the Bragging Rights competition, which was judged on best stage presence and crowd reaction.
Since then they have opened for Kiwi hip hop artists Savage, Young Sid, K-One and PNC, as well as international hip hop star Twista.
On top of performing Franz-Oliver and Krykey have been working hard this year on a video clip for their song ‘Guilty', which will be debuted at next week's gig.
The song reflects on the book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad' and is about 'what the less fortunate kid sees, he says.
'Which is family sticking together through tough times, and also through the eyes of the rich kid, to show true events based on the upbringing Krykey and myself had.”
Franz-Oliver says all the artists performing on the night have come together specifically for the appeal and thanks them greatly for their support.
Next week's gig will be an awesome night of music and a chance for people to see Tauranga's hip hop community at its finest, he says.
'If you or any family you know whose children will be doing it hard over Christmas then get in touch with us with their gender, age and address. Everything will be kept strictly confidential.
'The Urban D Santa will then try to drop off presents to all families who would otherwise miss out.”
The Urban Drama Christmas Appeal and ‘Guilty' Video Release Party is on at Brewers Bar, 107 Newton Street, Mount Maunganui, on Friday, December 19, from 9pm.
Entry is by donation of a gift wrapped present and card which will be donated to a family in need for Christmas.
