Sol3 Mio are a beautiful mix of evocative and spellbinding operatic voices, with a massive dose of Samoan humour.
The trio are first and foremost ‘classical singers bridging the gap with contemporary' but have such a wide appeal to audiences who would usually run a mile from an aria.
All three are Bachelor of Music graduates from the University of Auckland and amongst their many awards Pene was the 2010 NZ Performer of the Year while Amitai won the 2012 Lexus Song Quest.
Over 2,000 tickets have been already snapped up and Bay Venues chief executive Gary Dawson says he is delighted with the response to date.
Sol3Mio is the first of three big acts to perform at ASB Arena next year, with the Godfather of Reggae Jimmy Cliff performing March 27, and Kiwi songstress Brooke Fraser on April 1.
ASB Venues says other exciting, yet-to-be-announced, concerts are waiting in the wings and the ASB Arena can cater for up to 4,600 people in standing concert mode.
Sol3 Mio performs at the ASB Arena, 81 truman Lane, Mount Maunganui, on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Tickets for allocated seating range from $65 to $85 + BF and can be purchased via Ticket Master by visiting www.ticketmaster.co.nz
