Bay of Plenty referee Glen Jackson's whistle blowing stock continues to rise ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup after being handed the highly anticipated clash between Australia and Ireland in November.
The former Chiefs and Steamers first five has been fast-tracked into the professional referee ranks, accepting a three-year contract from the New Zealand Rugby Union while hanging up his boots in 2010.
Holding the whistle in the Wallabies' match in Dublin on November 22 may bode well for the Bay referee one year out from the World cup in England, with many tipping him to be among the list of top officials announced.
Jackson will also control France's test against Fiji in Marseille on November 8 and a week later will be an assistant referee to south African Craig Joubert when Italy host Argentina in Genoa.
Jackson began refereeing in the Test arena at the end of 2012 after carving out a career with the Chiefs between 1999-2004, helping the Steamers lift the Ranfurly Shield for the first time, and a stint in the UK.
His latest refereeing assignment has been a recent Australia vs. Argentina match.
Fellow Bay referee Nick Briant has also been handed an officiating role in the November test window.
Briant has been handed the Romania versus Canada test in Bucharest on November 22, a week after running the touchline for Steve Walsh at Twickenham when England host the Springboks.
