Overwhelming success of this year's VINZ Coromandel Goldrush Rally means the event will be back in 2015, Rally NZ has announced.
Thames Coromandel District mayor Glenn Leach is pleased to have cemented a date in June 2015.

TCDC is also in discussion with Rally NZ organisers to hold a race similar to Wanaka's iconic Race to the Sky event.
'This proposed new event will be an iconic hill climb called 'Race the Ridge' and will be based in Whitianga.”
Glenn says the proposed race would take place on the Ernslaw One forestry block segment used for the Goldrush Rally.
Held during August, the Goldrush Rally was a nationally televised event that provided opportunities for local businesses to show off the Coromandel.
More than 65 rally teams competed in the event that saw drivers tackle a 135 kilometre special stage through forestry and public roads around the Mercury Bay region.
Rally NZ chairman of directors Peter Johnston says all of the Goldrush Rally competitors were greatly impressed by the event.
'They were hugely complimentary of the district and more specifically Whitianga, the event and its organisation, and this is only possible by the large amount of support that we received.”
Discussions within council and Ernslaw One about both events are still in the early stages of development but it is hoped the Race the Ridge could be held the week before Beach Hop.
