Bay of Plenty Police are asking motorists to use caution if using State Highway 30 around Rotoma today.

Police say they are aware of one slip on SH30 approximately 5km west of Kawerau West Road.

Flooding in the Eastern Bay

While the road is open Police are strongly urging all motorists to take care if travelling today.

Wild weather has slammed the Eastern Bay of Plenty this weekend, with rain causing significant flooding in and around the area.

Police have received numerous calls this morning about debris on the roads and slips around Eastern Bay of Plenty.

But there are no road closures that have been reported, says Police.
