Boxing Day sales are proving popular as ever at Bayfair Shopping Centre as it experiences more foot traffic this year than last and was busy even before opening at 9am.
Bayfair operations manager Steve Ellingford says people were walking around the mall from 8am as they hoped to be the first in the door for the best bargains.
Shoppers are heading to Bayfair to take advantage of the Boxing Day sales.
In the lead up to Christmas Steve says the mall experienced a strong period of customer turnover.
'In the week before Christmas foot traffic was up four per cent compared with last year.”
The heavy foot traffic today Steve thought could be down to a variety of things.
'Some people are taking advantage of the sales and doing it early to make the most of a great day.”
Steve also believed many of the shoppers were spending vouchers received as presents on Christmas Day.
