Harbour Link wins award

The Fletcher Construction team responsible for building the NZ Transport Agency's Harbour Link project is the winner of the 2010 New Zealand Contractors' Federation award for projects worth more than $20 million.
New Zealand Transport Agency Harbour Link project manager Kevin Reid says the award recognises the high standards that were achieved by Fletcher Construction on the project using innovative construction techniques, whilst ensuring a high level of community engagement.

The effort to build the new harbour bridge has won an award.

"The NZTA extends its congratulations to Fletcher Construction and all the team associated with construction of the project for their success in winning this prestigious national award," says Kevin.
The judges, Ian Bond and Richard Aitken, noted the excellent effort put into planning, designing and constructing this complex project in a particularly constrained site environment.
"We were impressed with the attention to detail in planning and programming, and temporary works design, the majority of which was undertaken by in-house staff and was world-class," says Ian.
Due to the very high quality of entries, the judges awarded two winners in this category, with the Hobson Bay Tunnel Project undertaken for Watercare by the Fletcher Construction/MacDow joint venture also receiving a joint award.
