Mount complex wins award

Attention to detail and focus on customer service has earned Cutterscove Resort Apartments in Mount Maunganui the TripAdvisor Excellence Award for 2014.

The resort, near Tay Street on Marine Parade, won the award based on ratings by guests using the TripAdvisor website.

It signifies that the complex has 'consistently earned outstanding feedback from TripAdvisor travellers” – something director Brian Felton wholeheartedly agrees with.

'These sites are really critical, and it's become more and more important we achieve good ratings on these types of reviews.

'We typically get excellent feedback rating about a 9/10 and we are just delighted we have been selected for this award – we have worked hard to get it.”

Brian and wife Judith Felton, along with Steve Saunders and Jill Tunnell, manage the complex of privately owned apartments available for short term stays.

Its features – a swimming pool, spa, sauna, tennis courts, mini golf course, golf driving net and lounging area – make it a 'great getaway for families”, says Brian, and has helped it secure the excellence award.

'It's our facilities as much as anything. But its also our attention to customer service, we work to make people happy, make sure all the cleaning is undertaken and give a good first impression.”

Brian says together the management team of four have more than 60 years' experience in the industry, with Brian and Judith running a number of accommodation providers before taking over management of Cutterscove in 2012.

Since then, maintaining modern facilities, and revamping the entrance to make a more attractive first impression for visitors are two of the ways the team has helped increase the business' ratings on both TripAdvisor and Booking.com

'We have rated highly on both for quite a long time, so it's great to get this recognition.”
