A Poike man is angered after discovering his Suzuki 50cc moped scooter has been stolen from his residential property sometime during this week while he's been working from dawn til dusk.

Olivine St resident Ross Griffiths says he'd like to see the moped – he discovered stolen yesterday morning – returned if someone spots it.

Ross Griffiths' stolen scooter – which he thinks has been taken during the last week from his Poike property.

'I work long hours and it's obviously been taken while I've been at work,” says Ross, who works for the Go Bus company between 6.30am to 8.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays.

The bright red Suzuki AZ50 moped was taken from behind Ross' carport, where he parks it along with two other mopeds.

'I parked behind my carport which has been closed off and I've got a boat in the carshed so you can't see it [the scooter] – you'd actually have to walk up there to find it.”

'I discovered it was gone this [Saturday] morning – it was my day off – and I went outside and saw the cover had been thrown off them and one had been taken.”

Ross says he uses his scooter to get around, instead of cars.

'I just registered the one that was stolen; I use the scooter when it's not raining and in summertime to ride to work.”

Ross says he's angry that while he's been working hard someone has gone onto his property to steal the scooter, which is only worth $200-$300 – but he says it's the principle of the act.

'Like I say; I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark so I couldn't see anything until this morning, and it was well gone.

'Why do they want to go and steal from people who are trying to make a living and live a normal life?”

Ross says he's reported the theft to police, who don't have much to go because he's unsure of when it was taken.

Ross says if anyone sees his stolen scooter, to please contact their nearest police station.
