At the second World Cup in Racice, Czech, the defending K1 200m Olympic champion was looking to continue her golden form on the water following the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Milan, Italy earlier this month.

Earlier in the competition Carrington made an exceptional start in the K1 500m, placing first in both the heat and semi-final both in times of 1 minute 56 seconds.

In calmer conditions for the final, Carrington took out gold behind Ewelina Wojnarowska and Beata Milkolajczyk, who took first and second respectively.

Bay of Plenty paddlers Scott Bicknell and Andrew Roy's K2 500m B Final ended in disappointing fashion, sitting mid pack the whole way down the course and finishing 7th in 35.041.

The women's K4 of Jamie Lovett, Teneale Hatton, Caitlin Ryan and Aimee Fisher approached their 500m race full of adrenalin, keeping pace well throughout the race, finishing 7th in 1:37.109, three seconds behind the Polish winners.

In the last race of the day Teneale Hatton didn't fail to disappoint in the women's K1 5000m, taking the lead and the win with 20m to go in 22:15.1, just 0.9 sec ahead of Czech paddler Anna Koziskova and seven seconds ahead of Great Britain's Lani Belcher.

In double success, Hatton took out the K1 1000m for the first time since 2011 in 4:02.169, 5.48 seconds ahead of Australia's Naomi Flood.
