London-based Kiwi rock band I Am Giant will perform at Brewers Bar in Tauranga on July 31, as part of their nine-date New Zealand tour.

I Am Giant will play in Tauranga on July 31.

The tour is to promote the group's new album, ‘Science and Survival', which is due to be released on July 4.

Science and Survival is the follow up to I Am Giant's debut album The Horrifying Truth.

Recorded between France and London, mixed in Melbourne, and mastered in New York, Science and Survivalis being touted as an international effort.

Co-produced by Forrester Saville (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Helmut), bassist Paul Matthews and drummer Shelton Woolright, the album features the first two singles ‘Razo Wire Reality' and ‘Death of You'.

With the album also being released in Germany, Poland, UK, Australia and Indonesia, bassist Paul Matthews says the band spent twice as much time recording Science and Survival as they did the last album.

'It was a real challenge. We really pushed ourselves and our own expectations to the absolute limits.

'It's bigger, better, heavier, more intense yet a more intimate I Am Giant. The album is a representation of how we are feeling – and we cannot wait to play the album live for our fans in New Zealand.”

I Am Giant will begin their NZ tour in Christchurch on July 17 and finish in Auckland on August 2.

Tickets are available from 9am Friday, May 9, at Ticketmaster and www.iamgiant.com
