The State Highway 2 on-ramp at Route K is to close for two days during major resurfacing works.
On Sunday, Sunday night and Monday night, the on-ramp from the Route K overbridge to Takitimu Drive will be closed to traffic heading towards Mount Maunganui, advises the NZ Transport Agency.
Traffic from the Route K toll road will be diverted via 15th Avenue, Cameron Road and Elizabeth Street to join up with SH2.
The closures will happen on Sunday between 10.30am and 6.pm, overnight on Sunday and from 6pm to 6am on Monday.
NZTA says the work is weather dependent and if wet will be undertaken on the next suitable day.

Council is spending millions to improve Route K in preparation for the free for all hand over to NZTA next year.
