Good results at The Aussies

After winning gold at the Under 15 boys 2km beach run at the 2014 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, Mount Maunganui surf lifesaver Hamish Miller went on to qualify through more rounds of water events.

Commonly referred to as 'The Aussies”, the seven-day event has 5000 surf lifesavers competing in 382 events on the golden sands of Western Australia's Scarborough Beach.

Olivia Eaton, who competed in the Under 17, added another creditable 5th to her list of achievements in the beach sprints arena.

The beach flags start tomorrow and Olivia is hoping to improve on the 5th place she gained last year.

Also in the Under 15 arena is Libby Bradley who has the surf race and tube rescue finals and diamond semi tomorrow.

Competing in the Under 17s, Amy Barron has qualified for the surf race semi and the ski race semi.

All three open women Brooke Shergold, Emmanuelle Bisherelle and Flora Manciet have semi-finals and finals covering board race, ski race, double ski, surf races and iron woman. They will combine for the taplin final.

Flora will finish her busy schedule teaming up with Julien LeLanne in the open mixed double ski.

Julien and Adrien completed their other events today with the restricted surf race final.

Omanu competitors Sam Pasley and Josh Jarvis will be hoping to get through their iron man quarter finals, with Ben Elisara and Morgan Brockelsby now completed their programmes.

Under 19s' Natalie Peat had a busy Friday progressing nicely through her rounds.

After the success at the NZ nationals she has been racing well, and hoping to add to her titles already gained this season.
