Mount Maunganui kiteboarder Marc Jacobs has stormed his way to the top in the Dakhla Kiteboarding 2014 World Cup in Morocco.
The New Zealand national champion showed his form with a close second in the single's eliminations, scoring the highest heat of the day, before ousting singles winner Christophe Tack, from Belgium, in the Freestyle Double Elimination to win the event.

Jacobs needed to beat Tack twice in the doubles to knock him off top spot and claim victory.
Tack landed a solid S-Mobe and Crow Mobe 5 amongst others, but he was one trick shy of the five tricks upon which the overall score is calculated.
In a masterful display of powerful freestyle kiteboarding, Jacobs tapped into his latent power and landed more tricks, including a textbook Front Blind Mobe and Blind Judge 5 giving him the win by 4.07 points in the super final.
Mother Nature made for challenging conditions, with her strong blustery winds reaching more than 30 knots – perfect conditions for powerhouse Jacobs.
Elated with his win Jacobs admits to be enjoying the moment.
'I'm a happy little dolphin.”
This is the kiwi's first season win on the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association tour and the second top podium spot, having won the PKRA event last year in Germany.
Winning this event has definitely fuelled Jacobs dream to be World Champion after gaining the prestigious title of Vice World Champion, with his overall second place in the 2013 PKRA World Tour.
The season's just begun with future competitions this year in France, Egypt, Dominican Republic, Spain, Germany, Brazil and finishing off the 2014 year in China.
