A significant road layout change will take place at the Tara Road and Domain Road intersection in Papamoa this weekend, if weather permits.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully as contractors undertake the road works, as part of on-going construction of the NZ Transport Agency's Tauranga Eastern Link project.
The Domain Road interchange.
Tauranga City Council also warns the works may be postponed depending on the weather.
If the weather is fine, work will begin about 6pm on Sunday until early morning Monday and temporary traffic management will be in place.
'The existing intersection will be removed and all traffic will be switched onto the new roundabout,” says a statement from council.
'Domain Road traffic will be moved across to the new southbound lanes to allow the existing road to be removed and new northbound lanes (heading to Papamoa) to be constructed.”
