Mount Vibes on track for New Years

The stages are in place and the acts are ready to perform for the inaugural Mount Vibes Festival tomorrow.

It's the first time the festival has been run, and organisers have secured some top names in NZ music with headliners including The Black Seeds, Homebrew, Aaradhna, I Am Giant, Blacklistt and Sons of Zion.

Co-promoter Morgan Dynes says the final touches to the event are being done this afternoon ready for show time tomorrow.

'We are down at Baypark setting everything up both stages and getting the bands lined up and everything else.”

Morgan says tickets sales so far have been 'unbelievable”.

'Roughly 4000 tickets have been sold and we still have about 2000 left.

'Tickets will be available on the day but if they are snapped up like they have been so far, then it's first in first serve.”

He says tomorrow is set to be the perfect day weather wise.

'There is a little bit of rain coming in now but after that it's going to be the perfect day.”

The event will be held inside the ASB Baypark Stadium, with overnight camping available for up to 2500 people.

The doors open at 3pm, with the first band starting at 4pm, and will run through until 12.30am on January 1.

At the close of the event, buses will run from ASB Baypark to Papamoa, Greerton, Mount Maunganui and into Tauranga.

People wanting to get their ticket to the festival can do so at Brewers Bar, Satori Lounge in Mount Maunganui, Eventfinder and Player at Bayfair.

Would be okay if it was inside the tect arena. What about all of us that live nearby and have kids that need their sleep? Its already louder that the stock cars and its only just started.

If you don't like the noise, just move somewhere else. Bay Park has been there a long time & it used to be across the road by the houses ;-)
