Search for a new chamber CEO

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce CEO is on the hunt for a new CEO after former CEO Max Mason gave up his position last month.

Max had been on the job for five and half years.

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new leader after Max Mason handed in his resignation last month.

The Chamber has called in Tauranga recruitment specialist Personnel Resources to help find a new chief executive for the Chamber of Commerce.

'We have been Chamber members and mentors for 18 years, and have a very good sense of the organisation and the CEO role,” says Ian Chitty, from Personnel Resources.

'We are delighted to have the opportunity to assist in recruiting a new CEO for the Chamber given the importance of the role in the local business community.”

Ian has a list of possible applicants, and Personnel Resources will advertise in local and national media starting next week.

'In many ways this is a unique role given the very broad range of skills and experience desirable, but it's also about attitude and personality.

'Most importantly it's about finding someone who is passionate about making a difference in Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty.”

The Tauranga Chamber of Commerce is not funded by Tauranga City ratepayers. It provides services to the City Council for which it is reimbursed.

Get your facts right!

Sorry mate but if you are going to return, get your facts right. The Chamber is an independent organisation and the CEO's salary is paid from the Chamber's membership subscription. And the Chamber has no control over making storm water improvements.

If they stopped paying them then the rates would be less, no massive salary job then either ... win win situation when you look at it.
