Tauranga waterfront's first outdoor cinema is being hailed a success after more than 200 people turned up for the premiere event last night.
Crowds gathered first to enjoy The Little Big Markets from 5pm, followed by the first Night Owl Cinema event, with a screening of Kiwi film ‘Boy' at The Edgewater Fan.

OrganiserKim Cleland says it was a very successful evening with great community support.
'We probably had a couple of hundred people here, and we probably couldn't have fitted anymore.
'Everyone was really positive and had big smiles on their faces. People brought along their own chairs and settled in for a really good evening.”
Scattered food stalls, fashions, and arts and crafts were also on display in a market-style atmosphere.
The inaugural Night Owl Cinema will continue through the summer season with people asked to vote for their favourite film to screen on January 17.
The next cinema event is at The Little Big Markets' Christmas markets at Blake Park in Mount Maunganui, and Kim expects is will be a 'totally different experience”.
