Tauranga city wants your feedback

Tauranga City Council wants your feedback on where to build a new inner city transport centre.

The possible locations are Durham Street, south of Spring Street, and Willow Street between Wharf and Hamilton Streets.
The existing bus stop in Tauranga is located on Wharf Street, with two services on Willow Street. The Wharf Street site is already congested and the street's steep gradient creates difficulties. Bus use in Tauranga has increased by an average of 16 per cent per year over the last five years and is forecast to continue growing at this rate.

The Tauranga City Council should not build an inner City Transport Centre ANYWHERE! The Tauranga City Council should instead be bending over backwards to encourage the PRIVATE SECTOR to build an inner City Transport Centre wherever its investors think will work and be profitable for their business to flourish. The Tauranga City Council should concentrate on the core council services, and stop trying to be a transport company. Leave that job to the professionals - its their business - not yours.
