Having a mechanic on the hunt for a new car can pay off. The Mount Mosaic church found the Merivale Community Centre's new car for $1500 – but it took Brett at Brian Gibney Autos in Te Puke, a couple of months to find.

The 1994 Nissan is being presented to the community centre on Friday.
'We raised money for it when the Star Trek movie came out,” says Joel Milgate, Mt Mosaic's community activator.
'We have been looking for the right car ever since.”
The community centre still needs assistance with running costs for the car, including its registration, warrant, insurance and petrol.
